Diarrhea Control fortnight launched at SHOPIAN,: JULY 31: Intensified Diarrhea Control Fortnight was launched at District Shopian today. Assistant Commissioner Revenue , State Programme Manager, NRHM, J&K, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Officers from ICDS, Medical Officers and other officials from Health Department were present on the occasion, Sachnews Jammu Kashmir Correspondent Gulzar Sahara reports said. After the launching ceremony State Programme Manager, NRHM, J&K visited District Hospital Shopian to monitor the functioning of District Hospital and implementation of various schemes. During his visit SPM found that the condition of Hospital is very bad particularly the Gynae ward, Stab Unit were in a very bad condition he also found that there were no doctors inside the Gynae OPD. SPM also found that JSSK scheme was not being implemented in the District Hospital and most of the pregnant ladies told him that no free OPD tickets were being provided to them and even they were being advised by the Doctors to get the tests done outside the Hospital. SPM took a serious note of this and wanted to take up the matter with Medical Superintendent Shopian but found that Medical Superintendent was not present there. He then went to DC office Shopian to discuss the issue with DC Shopian , Chairman District Health Society, Shopian. But the DDC was on official tour. Then SPM discussed the issue with ACR Shopian and decided that a Committee will be framed to Investigate the matter in detail. SPM told us that the matter will be taken at the highest level and the causes of the failure will traced and overhauled.
