Dias Kadyrbayev, a college friend of the chief suspect in last years Boston Marathon bombings, pleaded guilty Thursday to impeding the investigation, the U.S. Attorneys office in Boston said. Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, 20, both from Kazakhstan, were accused of obstruction of justice and conspiracy for allegedly helping bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev cover up the bombings that left three people dead and more than 250 injured.. At the plea hearing on Thursday, the prosecutor read the governments facts in the case, WCVB reports. Asked by the judge if that is what happened, Kadyrbayev replied, Yes. Under the terms of the deal, Kadyrbayev -- who faced up to 25 years in prison -- would be sentenced to no more than 7 years. He would also be deported to Kazakhstan to serve out his sentence.
