Kamalika thinks no one has bothered about her eating, cared for her so much! Bikram asks if ingredients are there to make sandwiches for memsaheb. Sharmila asks sarcastically when maam changed to the new name, what other names he has for her. Bikram goes to the kitchen. Sharmila castigates Kamalika for shameless behavior, provoking a boy half her age. Kamalika shouts, hold your tongue, what specific behavior of hers Sharmila objects to..(?!) Sharmila explains certain code of conduct, social and moral values of their society which she shouldve taught Bikram as teacher, not lead him astray, what will her friend and his aunt say.. Bikram returns with sandwiches, wants to feed Kamalika makes a scene, shrieks and shouts at him. Bikram says if Sharmilas accusing her, its Sharmilas problem not theirs. Shocked and hurt, Sharmila says she didnt know things have gone so far. Bikram dispenses wisdom, says she doesnt know many things, does she know when the bud becomes a blossom (!). He threatens to leave immediately if Sharmila objects. Sharmilais cant ask him to leave, tells Kamalika she never wished her ill, so neednt have been betrayed this way. Bikram tells a willing Kamalika its Sharmilas EGO (!), regards him as Property, is displeased they didnt tell her about their love. (!!!) Kamalika hugs Bikram, cries copiously, tells him never to leave her and go away, no one stayed with her, all left her, now shes begun a new life. Bikram says he wont go if she doesnt want him to, says its as though he has crossed darkness ... !!! They hug
