Dick Tracy (1990) - Dick Tracy, a stalwart police detective, works to fight crime in the big city. As crime boss Big Boy Caprice moves to organize all of the mobs into one big syndicate, Tracy opposes him. Will Dick Tracy prevail? Warren Beatty produced, directed, and stars in this homage to the 1930s Dick Tracy comic serial. Beatty is solid as the square-jawed Tracy, but the villains, particularly Al Pacino as Big Boy Caprice and Dustin Hoffman as Mumbles, are a hoot and get all of the best lines. In addition, youve got plenty of tommy gun battles and the use of highly saturated colors to mimic technicolor films made during Holluwoods Golden Age. I highly recommned this as an entertaining film.
