Did anyone else catch this? In my opinion, we as a society need to be more aware of how the system keeps all of us wrapped up. Agriculture is the foundation of the economy and as such is being manipulated by the government, banks and big business. They are hitting us at tax time and hitting us at the grocery store. On top of that, these subsidies are not going to organic or biological farmers, but ones who farm in a way that many of us dont want to support. Interesting that American farmers are growing so much that the price has come down beneath certain benchmarks, therefore triggering compensation payments. At the same time the futures market is at a 5 year low. The clean food movement has now been hijacked and set up as an elitist privilege for those with disposable income? I always hear I cant afford it. Cheap food is cheap because it is overly subsidized. Please realize that its not cheap when you are paying for it 3 times.... in the store, at tax time, and when you need to go see that doctor. Wal Mart organics is NOT the answer, and neither is Whole Foods. The answer is in InI. Support your local ital farmer....... plant something...time to dig deeper!!!
