Did anyone else see this? There have been numerous reports of flashes of light in the skies early today, between 1 and 4 a.m. It’s been described as a large, golden-yellowish burst of light in a sphere shape. Someone described it as a cross between lightning and a flashing cell tower, but it was neither. The majority of our Morning News crew saw it on their way in coming from all directions, including Randolph County, the Charlotte area, Greensboro and other parts of Guilford County. One of our producers saw it about 4 or 5 times between 2:30 and 3 a.m. on her way in from Asheboro. Our own Emily Byrd says she’s checked weather data to see if it could have been lightning, but there was nothing. If you saw this and got a picture, please share it on our wall!
