Did anyone see last nights 60 Minutes segment on so called Leadership PACs. I would like to say I was appalled, but the greed in congress is so evident, yet tolerated by us all. Why arent more people incensed? How is it that our law makers, that are supposed to be working in our interests, that are paid close to $200k, are allowed to collect unrestricted slush fund contributions from lobbyists and interest groups. Anywhere else - thats a bribe. Did you know that members of Congress are exempt from insider trading rules. Yep, they can, and do, walk right out of a closed meeting and call their broker to trade on an knowledge of an agreement in the Financial Services Committee, Appropriations Committee, from back room deals.... If we want our democracy back, we need to get money out of congress, and get representatives that work for the mass majority and not special interest groups that can make huge campaign contributions.
