Did anyones little one have vocal cord paralyses? My Amelia is 4 months old and both her vocal cords are paralyzed almost shut. The left one is paralyzed because of her Norwood, but they right one was paralyzed because she went into cardiac arrest and needed ecmo for a day. They had to go in thru her neck, on the right side. We didnt realize that her cord was damaged for a month after her shunt revision. She went for a bronchoscopy and had to have a tracheostomy. Now she has a trach. Im just wondering if anyone else experienced something similar. Any of you have a hlhser with a trach? If your little one had a trach due to cord paralyses, how long until the movement came back and the trach was able to come out?
