Did bike rumor just jump the shark? “Exaggeration of every kind is as essential to journalism as it is to dramatic art, for the object of journalism is to make events go as far as possible” Journalist conscious of this, and having tradesman-like habits, supply their demands even if its false, misleading and irresponsible. Bike-rumor slams motoped and then falsely pictures what they call a nor-cal Motoped dealer, clearly holding a dirt bike in Camo clothing attempting to cross a fence in their article. ( this picture is a well known picture easily found on the internet of a guy in Camo holding a dirt bike. This is not a motoped dealer or even a motoped) In my opinion, one has to now wonder about every article, review and story they have previously covered? I actually use to believe they had objective reviews and breaking news on stories related to the bicycle world, that in my opinion is no longer true. The real question is, why would a company like bike rumor run a story like this and place false images of a motoped dealer and motoped while risking their entire reputation over an article? Has this happened before and will it happen again? Worried about e-bikes on your local trails? You should. bikerumor/2014/08/06/found-user-conflic-eradication-moped-death-machine/
