Did he do right to cancel this wedding? posted on behalf of P.P I refrained from posting this three months ago cos i prayed and hoped that the event will eventually hold on saturday but alas, it didnt! She is an insurance executive, lives in Gwarinpa area of Abuja FCT, drives an SUV an pays an annual rent of N800,000.00 (eight hundred thousand naira) while he is a trader, lives in Kubwa also in Abuja, drives a camry, pays an annual rent of N180000.00 (one hundred and eighty thousand naira), has a duplex in his village. They are both from the southeast but different states. They have been dating since 2012 and late last year, they started planning their wedding. The introduction was supposed to hold during Christmas 2013 while the proper traditional rites and white wedding will hold Easter this year but she was on official duty and did not travel to the village with him. To cut the story, introduction was rescheduled April 27th, traditional marriage June 28 while white wedding is August 9th, 2014 - that was saturday! Trouble started when they went for the introduction, the guy came back to cancel all the wedding plans. According to him, his fiancée lied to him, that she made him to believed that she came from a wealthy family not that he is after her money, after all, he is very comfortable, but, why would she be paying eight hundred thousand per annum in another persons house whereas her family house in the village is only two rooms, dilapidated with leaking roofs? Why would she be driving an SUV in town when her father in the village did not even own a bicycle? Why did she not channel all these monies she use in flexing to build at least four bedroom bungalow in her fathers compound? So many whys. The hallmark is that the marriage did not hold and they have gone their separate ways. Hmmm! My suit that was sent from Lagos specially for the cancelled ceremony is here with me and i dont know what am gonna do with it! Guys, can you cancel your wedding if you realized that your fiancees lifestyle is higher than her familys background? Ladies, will you rather live in the most expensive part of the city, drive a porsche car, adorned with very expensive wears while your fathers house in the village is dilapidated? Is their a lesson for us in this story? Lets share!
