Did you ever return from a very pleasant walk and when you’re just a few feet from your driveway you hear a sound across the road from you and when you look over you see a rather small bear running through the woods? You aren’t really scared because it is a small bear and it is going the opposite direction from you. But then when you get to your driveway and look ahead you see that there’s a rather large bear sitting in your front yard. And then you realize you have unintentionally broken the golden rule of the wild kingdom, which is never put yourself between a mother and her cub, which is obviously what is going on right now. And then you also realize, that you just waved a friendly “Hello”to the bear in the front yard, and you feel pretty stupid about that. To make matters worse , there is absolutely no way you can get past the bigger bear to get into your house. But just at that very moment a car stops and the occupants, who are perfect strangers, ask if they can help you out. So then it hits you that you have to choose from one of these options: 1. Continue walking and go to randomly selected neighbors, knock on their door and tell them what? There’s a big bear in my yard and I want to go home? And they’re going to do what? 2. Breeze on down the driveway like that bear isn’t even there and go on inside your house. It’s YOUR house. YOU have the key. Not the bear. 3. Jump in the car with the two perfect strangers who could be murderers and/or kidnappers or maybe something even worse, let THEM breeze on down the driveway in their car and drop you off at your back door. This didn’t happen to me recently but it did happen. What do you think I did?
