Did you ever wonder why Jesus said on the cross My God, My God. Why hast thou forsaken me? It was not a cry of doubt but He was quoting the first verse of Psalms 22. Psalms 22 was a prophetic psalm the described the crucifixion accurately 1,000 years before Christ was born and almost 500 years before crucifixion was invented. Psa 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. Christ had to virgin born so He did not have a human father not inheriting the curse of sin from Adam. He was born without sin so He being innocent and the son of God could take upon Him the sins of the world. With the sins of the world upon Him it was such an awful sight that God could not look and a strange darkness covered the earth and for the first time in history Jesus was separated from the Father. This separation was almost more than He could bear and He cried out with a loud voice My God, My God. Why hast thou forsaken me? He became a sinner at that point so that we could have a right to the tree of life. Will you receive Gods gift to you today?
