Did you get Cynthias most recent Musing? …off to Laity Lodge – a beautiful place in the Hill Country of Texas. Ragan and I will go to retreat…well, I will be singing and “hangin’ out” with the attendees – But, I will be happy. Singing is my work, my retreat, my life. I remember my writing partner Paul Pate (songs for A Private Showing). Paul once wrote a line that said in essence “when work wasn’t work at all, but PLAY”. That was written by a weary soul at that time. I’m afraid this crazy, manic world that we live in has taken a great amount of joy from our work. We work to make more money, some money, any money. Or, we work to retire. We work to impress. We work because that’s just what you do. When do we really play? When are our moments throughout the day about “just because”? When do we become like children – enter the Kingdom? I love to harp on this thought because Jesus said it. Let’s be like the little ones who sing and play and clean their rooms, and swing, and roll in the grass and – TRUST. Let go, my friends. Let your work be play and work for the Kingdom!
