Not only that it was my birthday that day, it was also the eve of the day I had planned to go see the puppy I had been looking at adopting. Somehow, something made me decide to check if the local pound had a dog re-homing program. After a few clicks on the City of Stirling website, there he was - one of the 6 Akita x Whippet pups born at the pound nicknamed ‘Dermot’ (now known as Max) available for adoption the following day! It was love at first sight…the white and brindle pup with the cheekiest smile - tongue sticking out and all…had stolen my heart!
