Did you host a National Night Out Party? This year West Oakland Neighbors celebrated the amazing transformation of Mead Avenue. This, one block street, was only a few years back better known as the Million-dollar-Block due to the record drug sales. Some also referred to it as the second most dangerous street in all of Oakland. The party was a huge success. We were joined by the awesome Prescott Clowns, our Councilmember Lynette Gibson McElhaney and EBCRP. We mingle with representatives from EBALDC, The San Pablo Corridor Coalition (SPc2), the West Oakland Green Initiative (WOGI) OPD and the awesome Oakland Firefighters. A special thanks to Ahmed, Carol, Naty, Betty, Martin, Moy, Mark, Jay, Rob, Terri, Ray and everyone else who worked so hard to make this celebration such a big success.
