Did you know.... Cobb Countys Airport, McCollum Field, had a feasibility study done in January 2014 by Boyd Group International on commercial service, and concluded that there was no market for it in this area, and its not cost effective. McCollum Field has a tremendous advantage over Paulding in that it is close to I-75, it already has an air traffic control tower, plus it already has a 6,035 foot runway... yet they are smart enough to realize that commercialization so close to Hartsfield is a bad idea. They also stated that other problems they would encounter are that the County must have constant expensive marketing and advertising, which would prevent them from offering competitive ticket pricing. Hartsfield offers very nice advertising incentives, which McCollum and Paulding cant afford. This is just one of the many details that have been overlooked or ignored in Paulding.
