The Longevity Center is now offering Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (otherwise known as thermography) available at Remedys! This technology visualizes and measures vascular patterns and heat activities in the body. Many holistic practitioners and individuals are interested in this preventative screening diagnostic tool due to its non-invasiveness and no radiation exposure. What it does: Thermography takes camera thermal images (pictures) of the breast and other regions of interest (head, abdomen, arms, legs, feet) to aid in the detection of circulation, inflammation, pain, vascularity and functional patterns such as thyroid or immune. How it works: State-of-the-art thermography screenings use ultra-sensitive infrared cameras and sophisticated computers to detect, analyze, and produce high-resolution diagnostic images of these temperature and vascular patterns. First, It visualizes the temperature symmetry of each area. The body is normally thermally symmetrical (meaning left and right side should be at about the same temperature). Second, DITI looks for blood flow patterns, activity and inflammation patterns- which are conducive with early stage disease. This tool may be used as preventative screening and/or a conjunctive test to other diagnostics- safely. The most popular scan is breast thermography- mainly because of compression and radiation issues. DITI scans are perfect for women age 30-50, women at high risk and women with dense, fibrocystic and women with implants or mastectomies.
