Did you know? The Turks and Caicos Islands Governor’s Office has provided over $75,000 of funding for UK/Overseas Territory capacity-building activities for TCIG staff in the 2013/2014 financial year. To date this has included: 1. Funding an attachment for the Cabinet Secretary to the Isle of Man Government; 2. Funding an attachment for the Deputy Director of the Integrity Commission to the Electoral Commission in the United Kingdom (to complete July 2014;) 3. Funding the Deputy Premier to attend the World Education Forum in the United Kingdom; 4. Funding training on lionfish control to DEMA officers; 5. Funding DEMA officers to attend a Port State Control course in the United Kingdom; 6. Funding DDME attendance at a Disaster Management course in the United Kingdom; 7. Funding activities, travel and award ceremonies for young TC Islanders taking part in the regional Duke of Edinburgh awards; 8. Providing funding for those working in Immigration to attend regional conferences and receive workplace training.
