Did you know? The buildings at Luther Seminary include three permanent chapels: the Chapel of the Cross in the Northwestern Building; the Chapel of the Incarnation in Olson Campus Center and the historic Old Muskego Church, which was originally built by Norwegian immigrants near Racine, Wis. The log-hewn church was dismantled from its original location and transported to the seminary grounds in 1904, where it was reconstructed. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Old Muskego maintains all its original features, and is available as a wedding venue during summer months. Inside the church itself, visitors can see the numbers and letters scratched into the logs and woodwork that were placed there to help workers reconstruct the building exactly as it originally stood. The pulpit stands above the worshippers, and at the side, a baptismal font stands ready to welcome new members to the church. A writer for the Norwegian American Weekly newspaper recently visited the seminary and wrote an article about the church.
