Did you know? The national motto of India Satyameva Jayate (Truth alone triumphs) is taken from the ancient vedic scripture Mundaka Upanishad. It is inscribed at the base of the national emblem and in all the currency notes of India. The actual verse in the Mundaka Upanishad is as follows: satyameva jayate nānṛtaṁ satyena panthā vitato devayānaḥ | yenākramantyṛṣayo hyāptakāmā yatra tat satyasya paramaṁ nidhānam which means Truth alone triumphs; not falsehood. Through truth the divine path is spread out by which the sages whose desires have been completely fulfilled, reach where that supreme treasure of Truth resides
