Did you know? The ultimate indignity . . . In 1966, there were two junior corps in Kansas City, MO, that were sponsored by St. Stephens Church, the St. Stephens Drum and Bugle Corps and their feeder unit, the Cadets. Amazingly enough, during the summer, every time the big corps competed against the feeder unit in parades and exhibitions, the feeder corps won. Not too surprisingly, the big corps folded, while the Cadets continued on and eventually changed their name to the Emerald Knights. (By Brian Tolzmann, DCW staff)
