Did you know a person can break into your car while it is on your own personal property ransack it and this is not a prosecutable offense under Prop 47 which we voted for. Even if the person had been caught in the act the best the police could do is give them a ticket, same as if they had jaywalked. I am learning this the hard way... so the person can ransack my car and take my garage remote control and the police dont even want to take a report because under prop 47 there is no permanent damage and nothing of value stolen. No wonder the criminals feel so brazen and bold.. the law is on their side! This pales in comparison to what I have seen recently on TV with looting and theft... but I feel violated even with this. My heart goes out to those that were so deeply affected by recent events of vandals and criminals even more now. I have already reset the garage opener thanks to a very helpful friend :).
