Did you know an IRS employee CAN NOT just become an EA, they must ALSO take the 2 day 4 part exam. Only offered once a year. Just because some says they worked for the IRS does not mean they are more informed. Ask them WHAT they did when they worked at the IRS. Most IRS employees are in singular department and may not be proficient in all aspect of taxes. Just reminding you to dot your is and cross your ts. In the long run you are the one ultimately responsible for what goes on your tax return. ASK questions and make sure you get an explanation you understand. If not ask them to elaborate and if they say thats just because find someone new.
