Did you know black cats are half as likely to be adopted as any other color cat? Animal rescue groups across the country arent sure why this happens. Most actually claim that their black cats are some of their friendliest feline citizens. Some studies believe that it is the superstition factor or that they arent as flashy as some of the other colors. Our longest black cat resident is Rinzler, who has been at the shelter for 16 months waiting for her forever home. Adam, a black kitten, was brought to the shelter 11 months ago and watched his sister (a calico kitten) get adopted and has been at the shelter ever since waiting for his turn at a forever family. All of the black cats we have available for adoption are very friendly and just love people and they will wait for that one special person or family to take a chance on them and see what a great companion they really are!
