Did you know if you get a peace bond (form of restraining order) for someone not to come 200 yards near you, your home or job you must do that in Dallas County if your city is in Dallas County? If the person violates that peace bond your city cant arrest them even though you have the order in that county. Why? You dont have a restraining order in your actual city. The person has to stalk you at your residence AND at your job in your city AGAIN! Then they have to stalk AGAIN to violate then they are arrested. True story. Im living it right now. You have to risk your life again at least TWICE. But thats about to change. Stay tuned. Policy changes to actually protect women and men first over county verses city agencies and respecting their little policies. Protect and Serve means protect and serve and it starts with policies designed to do so.
