Did you know that Germany’s Bavarian Forest National Park is home to the world’s longest tree top walk? Travelers on our new ‘Walking Austria, Germany & The Czech Republic’ tour— bit.ly/VBTWalkCZ —will get to experience the park’s unusual calling card, the Baumwipfelpfad. The tree-top walk is an ingeniously designed series of elevated platforms that goes on for nearly a mile. Walkers are brought up to the tips of the pine, fir, and birch trees that thrive in the forest by way of these walkways. The walk spirals its way upward before ending at a magnificent outdoor viewing platform with 360° views of the surrounding forest and mountains.
