Did you know that Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disorder which attacks the Nervous System? This can cause chronic fatigue, gait difficulties, numbness and tingling in the arms and/or legs and much much more! Why are we mentioning this??... Because WE CAN HELP!! Any Autoimmunity is due to the bodies inability to regulate its Immune System, which can in turn attack itself. Sometimes it attacks the Nervous System, like in MS, but it can also attack the Thyroid, like in Hoshimotos, the Pancreas, like in Diabetes, the Muscular System, like in Fibromyalgia, and the Joints, like in Rheumatoid Arthritis. Here are some ways that we help calm down the attack... 1. Check for Spinal Stress - Stress from abnormal spinal posture can place stress on the nervous system, which helps to regulate your immune system. Corrective Chiropractic care will prevent this from continuing in your life. 2. Look for Food Sensitivities - We check for Gluten (12 different Strands) and Gluten Cross-Reactive (25 Different Kinds) Sensitivities. Sensitivity to any of these, known or unknown, can cause an autoimmune attack every time you ingest that food. 3. Check for Vitamin D Deficiency - Low Vitamin D is linked to Immune System Dysregulation 4. Check Neurological Function - We look for Cerebellar weakness which helps control your balance, coordination, postural muscles and eye movements. 5. Check for Chronic Inflammation - Through basic blood work, usually checking your immune panel as well as inflammatory markers like CRP or Homocysteine, will allows us to find this. Chronic Inflammation is linked to many chronic diseases. 6. Teach you the Anti-Inflammatory Diet - Being that Chronic Inflammation is a cause to chronic disease, it is very important to learn how to eat and what supplements can help decrease inflammation. Think thats comprehensive?? There are many more things we can do, thats just a few! Give us a call if you are struggling with an autoimmune disease!
