Did you know that UNO is home to the award-winning Aviation Institute, University of Nebraska at Omaha? Check out this great article from the Omaha World-Herald about the Flying Mavs and the institutes connection with Jet Linx. Everyone seems to know Scott Vlasek as he strolls through Jet Linx’s corporate operations center. Employees nod at him, shake his hand and say, “Scott, hey, how’s it going, man?” Vlasek doesn’t work here. He is director of the Aviation Institute at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where students learn to be pilots, manage airports and handle air traffic control.
