Did you know that adopting parents speak their own language, - TopicsExpress

Did you know that adopting parents speak their own language, adoptenese? They refer to their home as the childs forever home. The day they officially pick up their child from the orphanage or equivalent , they call that day the gotcha day. My friends who are currently in China made every effort to locate the specific place their child was left abandoned. They called that place, the finding spot. They reportedly took lots of pics of Bowens finding spot in order to share with him one day, should questions arise where he was, not just sadly abandoned, but miraculously found. I think sometimes we as disciples of Christ forget about our individual finding spot. Maybe it was at Christian camp, vacation bible school, church pew, or a kids Sunday school class. Perhaps you are too embarrassed to admit it but maybe it was behind a certain back alley, bar, night club, jail cell, barrel of a gun, in a dark room on your knees or funeral. Did you just forgot or its too painful to recall? Well, I just dont want you to forget that every disciple has their own finding spot. Let us not forget. Sometimes when we feel we have somewhat arrived, we look at others with contempt, my goodness, when are they gonna get it together or what a shame, I cant believe they stooped so low/fell again. Dont forget you too had your own finding spot. Its painful; You may feel a pit in your stomach just to think of it. Nevertheless, you had one. We all did. Therefore let us love and encourage one another and celebrate that we are no longer orphans. Let us not dwell in the past and where we were found but in the future and what is yet to come. Our names have been changed. We have a family now. A big family! All because of the Miracle that hung on two crossed beams about 2,000 years ago! And dont ever forget that The tomb is empty. Jesus is alive!
