Did you know that during the late 1800s and early 1900s measles, like all infectious diseases, could be deadly. But things changed as living conditions improved. By1963 the death rate of the disease had decreased by 98%. Interestingly enough, this was right around the same time that the vaccine was introduced. Researching this might just lead one to conclude that the measles vaccine had little to do with the decrease in the disease. FYI: TGG believes better living conditions ( housing, clean water, better foods) to have decreased the spread and death rate of this disease.
