Did you know that for every $100 you spend at a local business, $73 will stay right here in our local economy? Did you know that for every $100 you spend at a non-locally owned business, only $43 will stay in our local economy? So what does that mean, and how does it affect our entire community and you as an individual? It means that because small and local businesses are the backbone of our economy and supply over 80% of the jobs in the Canada, not only would buying local keep our families employed, but it will re-circulate the dollars we spend in our communities seven times. So the more dollars we keep here, the more dollars that will circulate. The more dollars that circulate the better ability we have as a City to provide essentials like public safety, parks, clean neighborhoods and utilities that are important for each individual in our community. It truly is about understanding how and where we spend our hard earned dollars that will stimulate our economy and allow our community to prosper. I know that dollars are tight this year, but Small Business owners are asking for the consumers to think carefully about where they spend those precious dollars.
