Did you know that it is already the Supreme Law of the Land that the US is not a Christian nation? The Treaty of Tripoli, 1797, was a treaty of friendship between the US and the Ottoman Empire. It opens with this important line: As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Tripoli Note that the Senate which ratified this was indeed full of Founding Fathers. Washington was President at the time and Jefferson was the Secretary of State, so they both oversaw this treaty. The Constitution states in Article VI clause 2 that This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land. This means that the Treaty of Tripoli, like all treaties, is the Supreme Law of the Land. archives.gov/exhibits/charters/constitution_transcript.html So any argument that this is a Christian Nation is invalid - and it was invalidated by the Founding Fathers themselves shortly after the Constitution was ratified.
