Did you know that it was Bill Clinton who installed education reforms much like todays that dismantled our strong public education by defunding and changes in classroom lesson structure much as they are doing with Race to the Top? It was Clinton who pushed taking textbooks out of classrooms because they stifled creativity giving us children graduating unable to read. It was Clinton who pushed using calculators in classroom math even at the earliest grade because people are not going to have to know how to do math now that we can push a calculator button......this giving us children graduating unable to do math. AS A TEACHER HAVING GRADUATED FROM GRADUATE SCHOOL FOR EDUCATION IN THE EARLY 1990S I KNOW THIS IS WHAT WE WERE TOLD JUST AS TEACHERS TODAY ARE BEING TRAINED THAT SCHOOLS ARE BUSINESSES AND TESTING AND EVALUATIONS ARE GREAT----also absolutely wrong and crippling our strong public US education. Stop allowing Clinton neo-liberals pretend the Republicans did it----they are Republicans for goodness sake!
