Did you know that the Crisis Center provides prevention education to schools in Jefferson, Walker, Blount, Shelby, and St. Clair counties? As part of the Kids Help Line program, we teach lessons to students in grades K-6th on bullying and cyberbullying. The goal of these lessons is to help kids understand the dangers of bullying others and to help kids learn that every person deserves to be treated with respect. We put a huge emphasis on the bystander intervention. We tell kids that rather than standing by and watching the bullying happen, they need to stand up and speak out against the bullying. We give them the tools they need to know how to do this! What can YOU do today to stand up and speak out against bullying?
