Did you know that the UK is the worlds six largest economy, yet 1 in 5 of the UK population live below our official poverty line, meaning that they experience life as a daily struggle. In sort, we help individuals and entire communities through the projects we implement that help them improve their own lives whilst living below the bread-line. Here at mkfacp we strive to support people in finding their own way out of poverty, and building a secure future by improving their own economic status through the provision of transferable skills. Campaigning for fair pay we help people recognise the have the right to be respected by their employers, and employment should be an opportunities for progression not oppression. Our key researchers and social scientists here at mkfacp know that a job should be a key route out of poverty, but in reality for many working families in the UK it does not provide total economic independence (especially for working families living on very low incomes) and their is plenty of tangible evidence to back up our research. Having over 30 years field experience both here in the UK and a wealth of experience in Africa we know that a one fits all approach to multiple social challenges does not work. hence our very holistic approach through the provision of diverse programmes that include health, welfare, emotional and community support projects. We collect evidence to demonstrate the value of the approach we adopt do work. Given that we are not funded by anyone other than our volunteers hard work we know we can make a difference in our own lives whilst helping others at the same time and our work is three-fold. We know that by challenging negative attitudes and addressing gender and race inequality are integral parts of our work. We know that depending on your socio-economic background this can make life more difficult for people to thrive and in certain populations people are more likely to be unemployed, have low incomes, report ill-health, and live in the most deprived areas of the country. Thus, our social researchers implement projects that work at combating the negative impact of social exclusion drivers that impact on peoples lives in such a negative way and the way forward is to help support people in finding their own ways out of poverty, and building a secure future for themselves and their families. How we do this is through our outreach work. We know that fancy words do impress but actions speak louder than words. By doing the walk before the talk we have over the years lots of tangible evidence to prove that we can make a difference and we need your support to continue to do so. So, if you would like to find out more about what works and what does not work in terms of helping our members gain meaningful employment to help improve their own economic status then just ask? Find out more about what we do by creating your own society ..... interested in helping to turn lives around for the better? Drop us an email and we will get back to you.
