Did you know that traveling to Tahiti on a budget CAN be done? we think of the Polynesian Islands as a place of fancy 5 star resorts, yes, its great for weddings etc, but there are also camp grounds, families who take you in called "pensions" where they have a few bungalows and show you the real side of French Polynesia- they have all the secrets!!. They are private properties run by local tahitian families who will take you to secret hide-a-ways that are only known by the "Locals" and a fraction of the price, but who needs all that fluff when you can discover so much culture thru the other route. Even the tours can be done alone, without signing up for high priced, long term rides & 4 X 4 ride which can be costly, such as a trip to the huge cannons left behind in WWII. we are here for the people that can and can not afford all the glitz but still see the islands which are the main attraction anyway! everyone should have this on there "bucketlist!" This is for the ones who relish the idea of old time tahitian living, rites, beliefs and really getting to know the cultures....you will NOT be disappointed!!!
