Serving our community since June of 2013, all of One-Stop Career Center’s services are at no cost to job seeker or employer. Also, under our roof we have over a dozen non-profit and public agency employment programs who offer their invaluable services, again at no cost. Jobseeker • Here’s what One-Stop Career Center can do for you • First, we’ll find out what your skills are. Typing, spelling, math, grammar…all of these areas and more can be very important in getting you a job. So, we see where you’re at and then use government Skill Development Funds to get you the training you need. This could be a quick course in spelling or a more intense training in a specific job skill. • Discover Skills • First, we’ll find out what skills you have or want to learn. • Polish Your Resume • A great resume is the key to getting an employer’s attention. • Learn to Interview • We can train you in the “art” of interviewing. • Set Up Interviews • We help you set up interviews with potential employers Dan Williams, COO, Three Square 702-644-FOOD (3663) Your contributions of food, funds and time go directly to support the many hunger relief programs offered by Three Square Food Bank. These programs benefit over 1,300 Partner Sites in Southern Nevada including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, after-school programs, senior citizens and more. Our Program Partners receive food from Three Square and distribute it to Southern Nevadans in need through their pantry and on-site meal programs. In addition to those listed below, Three Square also offers our Agency Partners two additional Programs: Three Square’s Frozen Prepared Meal Program which gives Agency Partners a convenient and nutritionally balanced option comprised of prepared and fresh food products; and our Agency Capacity Enhancement (ACE) Grants Program which offers grants to agencies for refrigerators, freezers, infrastructure, training, and other items that will enable increased food distribution. Food Distribution Working with bulk food providers, Feeding America and local retail and grocery stores, Three Square sources and provides perishable and non-perishable food to our non-profit and faith-based partners. Childhood Nutrition Programs Forty percent of the people served by Three Square’s Agency Partners are children. Three Square has developed several programs to make sure our community’s most vulnerable citizens get the food and nutrition they need. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program S.N.A.P. Outreach Three Square is working with community partners to help people in need apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps. Nevada currently ranks among the lowest states in Senior Share Program Our Senior Share Program provides food-insecure seniors living with chronic conditions healthy supplemental groceries including fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins. Rich Strelak – Las Vegas Haunts 702-636-9515 Rich Strelak is a well known published author and seminar speaker for the Haunt and Entertainment business. He has published articles in Hauntworld Magazine and Tourist Attractions and Parks magazine and has lectured at the Halloween and Attractions Show for Transworld Exhibits and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. The Asylum and Hotel Fear haunted houses return to Las Vegas in the Meadows Mall parking lot. The Asylum is southern Nevada’s longest running stand-alone haunted attraction celebrating its 16th year of thrills. Voted “TOP 13 HAUNT” by Hauntworld Magazine, the chilling Asylum and Hotel Fear will be open to brave visitors who crave an adrenaline rush on Oct. 3-4, Oct. 9-12, Oct. 16-19, Oct. 23-26, and Oct. 29-Nov. 1. Established by RJ Productions, Asylum and Hotel Fear was created by visionary, Rich Strelak in 1999. Strelak is the only Vegas local haunt owner to lecture at the world’s largest Haunt trade show, TransWorld’s Halloween Haunt and Attraction Show, for over 12 years and has been a featured writer for the haunt industry. Over the years, he has shared his creative talent and passion teaching his skill to reputable family attractions, such as Disney, Universal and Six Flags. His well known masterpiece, the Asylum and Hotel Fear, are unique by interconnecting both themes into one terrifying story of the Vander and Feoray families. Met by chance, together by fate, bound by horror. Immerse yourself into the paranoid world of the Asylum and Hotel Fear. No gimmicks here, just good honest gut wrenching fear! “Do you know what scares you?...We do!” The frightening experience will admit “patients” 6:30 p.m. to midnight Fridays- Saturdays and 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays, and will operate special Halloween weekend hours, 6:30 p.m. – midnight Oct. 30- 31 and Nov. 1. Tickets are $15 for a single attraction, $25 for a combo ticket that is a passport to fear for both haunts. VIP tickets are also available, and discounts are found through Lotus Broadcasting (KOMP & POINT radio stations), Terrible Herbst, Sonic and Smith Food & Drug Stores. During the month of October, The Asylum and Hotel Fear encourages the community to bring in a new and /or gently used coat to benefit local homeless organizations. As a thank you, each guest will receive one free entry to the haunted attractions, valid any Sunday or Thursday (except Oct 30th) during operating hours. Additionally, a special no “monsters” behind the scenes, “Lights on Tour of Hotel Fear,” will be offered to little ones on Nov. 1 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. for a $2 donation which benefits the Nevada Broadcasters Association – Tony & Linda Bonnici Scholarship Fund. The fund provides scholarships for passionate students who attend or are about to enter a college or university and will study in the field of broadcasting.
