Did you see the smoke column in the north west today? A controlled burn at the north side of the San Angelo State Park was conducted today, but conditions were less than optimal. The ground, due to the recent ice and drizzle, did not allow the fuel to burn as readily as hoped - more smoke than burn. A lot of smoke. The plume was seen across the horizon for miles. The control burn will be attempted tomorrow as well... please DO NOT call 911 or the fire department. It is planned. Keep Calm and Smoke On! - photos by Ken Grimm
