Did you think our forests or your wood lot are a renewable resource and heating with wood is okay? After all, weve been doing it successfully for hundreds of years. Not per expanded EPA restrictions on wood stoves! New guidelines permit fewer than 16 micrograms of carbon per cubic ft of air within a closed construct such as a home, and state that non compliant stoves should be made inoperable to only be good for scrap metal--forget about trading in for a newer better model or shipping to a developing country. As a reference, secondhand cigarette smoke in a car with windows closed is well over 300 micrograms...but thats okay (??). Yes, that EPA--the growing one giving itself authority not only over navigable waters but control over temporary streams, desert arroyos that carry water, retention ponds and yes, if there is a water culvert under your driveway to handle runoff or snow melt or a low spot on your property that collects puddles....and so it continues. The Gods of Global Warming must be served. Never mind that there has been no appreciable warming of the troposphere in the last 218 of the 432 months of satellite measurements. And self sufficient persons must be punished, as a woman in south Florida who had her property rezoned and was forced to tie into the electric grid and monopoly provided water and sewer lines (instead of working well and septic) can attest. Little wonder any entrepeneur, large or small, is unwilling to start a business when faced with the morass of regulations, permits, fees and penalties. Federal bureaucracies alone this year created, expanded or modified more than 2,500 regulations dictating your actions without representation. While this is being done, you will continue to be entertained by monitored (read censored) or agenda driven crisis followed by crisis force fed you by media guardians of the truth afraid to look it in the face. And some of you are okay with that.
