Die stakers begin arriveer in die voertuie waarteen hulle protesteer:: 12\07\2014 Trade union COSATU Western Cape is on Saturday embarking on a strike in light of train fares increases- insisting that Metro rail must ensure “proper improvement of infrastructure” first. “This fare increase is a double blow to commuters in the light of the bad services that are presently provided by Metro Rail. When the train services are delayed workers and commuters must take busses and taxis to get to their destinations, which means extra costs on top of the cost of the weekly/monthly ticket,” COSATU Western Cape Provincial Secretary Tony Ehrenreich said in a statement. As a results, COSATU felt obliged to opt for court intervene on as they want to sue Metrorail to recover all the lost money for workers. The papers for the Class Action will be filed with the Cape Town high Court, said COSATU in a statement.Metrorail raised fares at the beginning of this month despite objections from the trade union federation, which asked for a delay until services visibly improved. 12\07\2014::
