Diego Jabalquinto Real Madrid has found the net 27 times in the ten games the squad has faced between La Liga and Champions League, a number they have reached with the active collaboration of Di María. With five goal assists to his teammates the Argentine tops Real Madrid’s list. Three of these assists were given in the Champions League, enough to place Di María at the top of the ranking of the best passers in the competition. Di María gave his first assist this season to Cristiano Ronaldo on match day 3 against Athletic (3-1). Right on the stroke of half-time the Portuguese striker took advantage of a great pass fed by the Argentine off a left set piece to head in the 2-0. Two goal assists came from the left-back’s boot in Real Madrid’s Champions League thrashing against Galatasaray (1-6), the first a pass to Isco, who tapped it in with his right foot, and the second to Benzema for a low shot that flew past Muslera. The left-back’s most spectacular assist this season was once again in the Champions League; Real Madrid’s 22 launched a short pass to Cristiano Ronaldo, who headed it in for the second goal in the rout against Copenhagen (4-0). Di María’s most recent goal assist was in the win over Levante (2-3), lofting the corner kick that Ramos transformed into Real Madrid’s first goal of the match. The Argentine has racked up a total of five assists in Liga and Champions, a competition in which Di María leads the ranking in this category with three. With one assist each the players coached by Carlo Ancelotti that follow the left-back on the list are Isco, Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo.
