Diet and Nutrition are the two important pillars in maintaining our health. It is said that “we are what we eat” so the quality of food that we consumed is vital. “DIET” is the food that an individual consumes. It is important to consume a well balanced diet, as it provides the body with the necessary nutrients (good nutrition) required to maintain health. The necessity for good nutrition arises for individuals from all spheres right from kids, adolescents, men, women and a sportsperson. “Good Health” is to be in a state of balance where all body organs function in harmony. Most of us come to this world blessed in good health but with course of time and erratic lifestyle we tend to lose our health. Therefore to achieve optimum health it is important to make the necessary dietary changes. Changing one’s dietary behavior is one of the most difficult lifestyle changes an individual has too make, as dietary habits are long standing and are a result of various socio-cultural and economic factors. DIET COUNSELLING is a motivating factor that can help a person to change his/her attitude towards food.
