Differences between denotative and connotative meaning, is that - TopicsExpress

Differences between denotative and connotative meaning, is that connotative meanings have more of an individualized concept to the same illustrated definition or word. For example, “the word school” stated by Beebe, connotatively, “might have personal and subjective meanings, such as wonderful, exciting place where you meet your friends, have a good time, for others it might be restrictive, burdensome obligation that stands in the way of making money and getting on with life”(Beebe 2008, pg. 154). Denotative meaning has a more complacent and illustrated definition to it, literally, what you find stated in dictionaries, it’s contented by terms rather sparked by emotion like connotative meaning. The triangle of meaning connotatively occurred with a broader perspective and brought words and symbolisms to life, and is why I used the word village. “It takes a village to raise a child.” Every word connotatively expressed with emotion taken from the African proverb in what it takes to care for our children, for others, the triangle meaning, culturally can mark a variety of different views. For me modernly, I live in society ran by government, me a product, a number, #288282! Tribally we have census numbers given to us to identify us as tribal prisoners of war camps, now, the reservation. Presently and factually, tribal members are suffering to this reform in government policy that destroys the villages of my people. Our children are supposed to be protected to be kept within family and tribal members, to keep our tribes thriving in preservation. The facts prove Native tribes will be destroyed in the near future. So the statement I am trying to make is this village, our government has to look at its own foreign policy, which I think is congress, to rebuild what was once promised to our tribes. As first nation’s people we are products of this village’s war department and nothing is being done to keep the true identity of our tribes thriving for a preserved future! Indian Child Warrior Acculturation 2013!!! ICWA the new reform must be taken into place to meet any progress as first nations people! It begins with our children, proper parenting, grandparents and traditions, community and true education, education and tribal preservation, land and water sovereignty protection, because, we have that tribe to protect sacred land and waters! Started from the bottom, now we here!!! One love to the struggle, get free or die trying! Our government and their laws! When school work and warrants unfold!! Never-ending story and still guilty until proven innocent!!! The life! Back to the box!
