Different day yesterday; as many of you know we promote this time - TopicsExpress

Different day yesterday; as many of you know we promote this time of year as the peak of our Sockeye Salmon return, and well, theyre here, but our complete lack of rain and beautiful sunshine, along with mild winter and minimal snowfall, have drastically reduced the level of the rivers, so the fish are schooled in the ocean waiting for rain! That being said theyre not where we need them to be to catch them. Anyhow, we headed out to troll for kings and caught a nice fish as soon as we put the first rod in the water, then lost a couple more as the wind pushed us around. Pulled the crab pot for a nice batch of crab and checked two of our favorite rivers in hopes the rain we got for the past few days would have improved Sockeye fishing...to no avail, theyre still holding. So headed to a local halibut spot for the last bit of the day and popped a few small buts. So, not a lot on the table last night and Im disappointed our fish arent in the rivers yet....But, raining again today so hopefully theyll get in position soon!
