Difficult day today. Buried my last surviving uncle, Assad - TopicsExpress

Difficult day today. Buried my last surviving uncle, Assad Shorrosh. Such a good man. Born in Nazareth, Palestine, died in Houston, Texas. A strong Christian Palestinian Arab who built up a great business in Houston, traveled throughout the world after attending school in Oklahoma. I could barely make it through the eulogy I delivered for him at the funeral service today. It was so difficult. He was basically my father after my father died in 1970, following me through life and offering guidance, while still raising his own family of three sons and one daughter. So sad to see a great Christian Palestinian not be able to see a final, just peace in Palestine, something he believed in. But he was such a very proud American, too. God Bless you Uncle Assad.
