Diffusing A Situation: I can sometimes turn up easily when provoked. It can sometimes get under my skin when I feel someone is trying to push my buttons or carry a disrespectful under tone when addressing mistakes or misunderstandings. This is not be confused with having a direct approach, which some people think they are doing when really they are being disrespectful or offensive. What Ive learned is to pick and chose my battles, and not to let some one elses actions influence my behavior. People who really know me know how I can get sometimes, but Ive just learned that keeping a respectful tone and approach can diffuse a situation and change the direction of a conversation getting out of hand. If that individual is still in their feelings then I would suggest you cease all communication with that person and let them argue with themselves. Nobody has time for it.
