Digging Out The Characters of Rixck & Civicu-Barsegiah By: Coleman J. Payne Cell # +231886893994 Let me begin with this quotation which states, “Changes are brought by changed men who themselves are changed in the process of changing society”. This is to say that before an individual delve into the trajectory of politics, wanting to see authentic development; his character should reflect through his quest for positive change. I will not rest till, the two Barsegiah understand that criticisms are necessary but must be done with sincerity. Many times on facebook, I have come across several unsupported and unrealistic statements from Rixck and Civicus Barsegiah against a refined character, Hon. Gbehzohngar M. Findley- true reflection of the Bassa people and other true sons of Bassa. I want to use this medium to realistically unveil the characters of Rixck and Civicus Barsegiah. For their characters, the two are the same. They are very rude. … And their characters can be traced at their various residences in Monrovia, back home in Grand Bassa County as well as the student community. During their high school days at the Liberia Christian High School and The Seven Day Adventist (SDA) in Grand Bassa County, both individuals on many occasions were suspended and Rixck was subsequently expelled from SDA for which he migrated to Monrovia to complete his secondary education. For Civicus Barsegiah, he was given warning letters many times which led him to leave the Cuttington University to complete his college education at University of Liberia. Their interactions and engagements during high schools and undergraduate levels was characterized series of chaotic situations. Frustratingly, the two individuals, on many occasions destabilized the smooth movement of the Grand Bassa University Student Union (GBUSU). This destabilization was carried at GBUSU’s various conventions, as well as meetings under the mandate of some sons of Bassa who are hoping for power. They and other guys sued GBUSU, at the time when Vicent Willie was President .This situation led many Bassa students out of schools. As it relates to these guys bad characters, Civicus Barsegiah was miserably beaten at BASAUL election by James Cee and at GBUSU’s convention by Vicent Willie, who never grew up in Grand Bassa County. And even they were jailed in the Port City of Buchanan for creating instability during the second General assembly of GBUSU. Regrettably, in 2010, at the ALL PEOPLE, ONE PEOPLE INTELLECTUAL FORUM, Rixck Barsegiah insulted our bassa brothers and considered them empty skulls. Let me also correct my brothers that they are not academic giants, as being claimed by them on several occasions, rather they are academic criminals. Their statement (academic giants) is false and malicious. Can they point out which institutions or classes they ever dux? What I know about them is rudeness or ignorance. Both of them are academically weak. This can be justified their long stayed studies at undergraduate. At certain time, Rixck was caught spying at the University of Liberia (UL) in Public Administration (307) in Theory & Practice. Now for me, I have been attacked by these two gentlemen with several insults. But let me say that the people of Grand Bassa County and Liberia at large are my witnesses in term of my character. I became President of the Grand Bassa University Student Union (GBUSU) which represents the vision bearers of our county who are attending tertiary institutions of higher learning. This is the same position Civicus Barsegiah contested for, but was glumly defeated. Besides, I served in several elected positions as well as positions of humanity. I served as trainer at the Buchanan community Based Care (BUCOBAC), where I trained over 7,000 Bassa citizens in Community Peace Education Program and Research Methodology. Interestingly, Enoch Yarlatee and I under our stewardship, we built a youth center at the Fairground. I served as one of the brains for the formation of Bassa Youth Caucus. Omega Jimmy and I initiated the Peace and Reconciliation Tournament that brought together youth, elders, high profile Liberians in our county. I donated two sets of jesseys each, cartoons ream of sheets, footballs, recorders, etc to the Buchanan Open Buchanan and Liberia Christian High Schools. Through my leadership as president of GBUSU, I provided several scholarships both undergraduate and graduate levels. And most importantly, two sons of Bassa were fortunate to earn their master’s degrees in England, at the Dudee University. To conclude, I am not envious of anyone but it is good to send out a caveat to those who continue to damage the integrity of others because of greed and envy. I am not falsely attacking the characters of these two gentlemen; please investigate my article and make a judgment. Let me make this clear that society will judge us were we to blindly sit without realistically giving our critical analysis on issues confronting us directly or in indirectly. Rixck & Civicus Barsegiah, you guys are my brothers; my commentary about you guys is to awaken your senses and transform your deportments in a positive way. Long Live Grand Bassa County, Long Live Liberia.
