Dilip Kumar discharged Yesterday According to news, the legendary actor Dilip Kumar, hospitalized at a city hospital has recovered to a little extent that now he can be discharged. Dilip Kumar Dilip Kumar born on 11 December 1922 as Muhammad Yusuf Khan is an Indian film actor known as Tragedy King and described as "the ultimate method actor". His career has spanned over six decades and with over 60 films. In 1976, Dilip Kumar took a five-year break from film performances, returned and continued his career playing character roles in films such as Shakti (1982), Karma (1986) andSaudagar (1991). His last film was Qila (1998). The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan award in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Awardin 1994 for his contributions towards Indian cinema and nominated him to Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian parliament for a term. The 90-year-old thespian was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on September 15 after he complained of uneasiness. According to doctors, he had suffered a heart attack. The veteran actor had been kept in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital. "He is much better (now) and hence we have decided to take him home. He is recovering quite well... He is having food on his own. He will be discharged tomorrow," sources.
