She used to rip rubbish bags open for what food she could find. Dillon was also a stray being fed by neighbours, and getting whatever food he could. Lola and Dillon are not feral, just very scared young cats. Since these two arrived, I have been working with them as much as possible. Lola does not like to be stroked due to being scared. Dillon can be stroked when he is given Dreamies treats. Lola and Dillon are in the large pen with an outside run. Whenever I am in the pen, they follow me everywhere and sit by me taking treats from me. They both want so much to interact but they need lots of time and patience. They are both very curious and will follow us around, and watch whatever we are doing. They both love to play with toys together, and we can hold toys and roll balls and they will come over to play. Lola and Dillon need a home with someone who has lots of time and patience, and who can work with them on a one to one basis to calm them down more. Lola and Dillon would need to be confined in one room until trust and confidence can be built with their new owner. It may also take longer than normal before they can be let outside – they need to be confident and to trust their new owner before being let outside. If we can’t find a home, then Lola and Dillon may have to be rehomed at stables or a farm. In my opinion, these two could be turned round into normal loving cats with the right patient owner and environment.
