Dim The Marquee Lights: Two Greats, Exeunt. Geoffery Holder died Oct. 5 at age 84, Marion Seldes Oct. 6, at age 86. Holder was a multi-hyphenate, actor, choreographer, designer, voice talent, James Bond nemesis and 7-Up pitchman. I remember those commercials, seeing him all in white, and apparently cool as anything, and that distinctive laugh and manner. Seldes was one of those Great Ladies of the Stage, humble and immensely talented, she could raise one of her distinctive chevron eyebrows and speak volumes. She was a student of Sanford Meisner and taught Kevin Kline and Robin Williams. Here is Seldes with Angela Lansbury talking about their performances in Terrance Malicks Deuce. https://youtube/watch?v=GdoxHIDWO_8 And Geoffery Holder, with his incredible voice, giving advice to young people. The best playground for a child is a museum, he says, especially if you cant afford to travel. Ask what is it, why, dont be satisfied until you find the answers. https://youtube/watch?v=aoJ3vk9_PgQ
